Hypocrites and Parasites

Yesterday evening on CNN, Paula Zahn, without even a hint of irony, segued from Bush's anti-gay marriage statement yesterday to a retrospective piece on Brown vs. Board of Education. As though there were no similarities whatsoever. Let's see what the president had to say:

TOPEKA, Kan. - President Bush (news - web sites) marked a half-century of school integration at the symbolic home of the movement Monday, saying "it changed America for the better, and forever."

"Fifty years ago today, nine judges announced that they had looked at the Constitution and saw no justification for the segregation and humiliation of an entire race," Bush said at the opening of a national historic site at Monroe Elementary, a former all-black school in the heartland of the school desegregation effort.

"Here on the corner of 15th and Monroe, and in schools like it across America, that was a day of justice, and it was a long time coming," the president said.

Yesterday as well, the president issued an official statement regarding the now-legal marriages in Massachusetts:

STATEMENT BY THE PRESIDENT

The sacred institution of marriage should not be redefined by a few activist judges. All Americans have a right to be heard in this debate. I called on the Congress to pass, and to send to the states for ratification, an amendment to our Constitution defining and protecting marriage as a union of a man and a woman as husband and wife. The need for that amendment is still urgent, and I repeat that call today.

George, I know at this point it's become little more than lip-service on your part, a role you assume to further snow the masses, but you should remember that God is very real indeed, and he's not fooled by Rovian BS. You will all be held accountable for your words as well as your actions. Good luck with that.
