The little coffee shop where I usually work (and blog) has been jam packed for days now with refugees from the coast. As I'd written earlier, these are of course the folks who had the financial and other wherewithal to evacuate when the intensity of Katrina became evident. These folks are charging cell phones and sending emails and trying to get a fix on what, if anything, is waiting for them back home.
I find myself incredibly angry today. The poor, the elderly, the sick and otherwise infirm, they were all left to die.
"I don't think anybody anticipated the breach of the levees. "
Lying sack of shit.
