Crazy

I find it truly amazing that, during the first week in years that I've not had full high-speed and uninterrupted Internet access, that Bush engages a criminal defense lawyer in anticipation of being called before the grand jury investigating the treasonous outing of Valerie Plame, George Tenet resigns (followed by his Director of Operations) Cheney is brought before the grand jury, and Reagan dies. Never mind the ongoing Chalabi intrigue and infighting around it, the Pope's condemnation (again) of Bush's war and, in turn, Bush's co-opting the Pontiff for an election year photo op. I shudder to think how many times we'll see him giving the Pope the Medal of freedom and saying:

A devoted servant of God, His Holiness Pope John Paul II has championed the cause of the poor, the weak, the hungry, and the outcast. He has defended the unique dignity of every life, and the goodness of all life.

Tomorrow morning I'll be traveling again, back down South, to where I'll be fully connected once more. I'll probably be posting a piece on Reagan and the propaganda windfall his death and Soviet-style funeral will represent for the GOP. At least, that's what I foresee myself writing while on the plane. We'll see. Until then....
