In the throes of an orgy of respect for and re-remembering Ronald Reagan. The constant rewriting of histroy on the fly is exhausting. That's my word for the week. Exhausting. Exhausted.
Between the traveling, the slam bam back into the day job, and the all-Reagan, all the time, news cycle (conveniently ignoring the huge developments in the oh so many scandalous affairs of the Bush administration and its follies), I'm whooped. I want to apologize for the lack of posts this and last week, and give all of y'all my promise that things will be back to normal here soon.

Funny how the past always looks better after you get some distance from it. I guess having a president that's easy to find fault with can make past presidents look pretty good, too. It's all a matter of perception, really. How do you think the War on Terrorism will look in another 25 years? Or will we be allowed to speak of it?

I'd like to think that we'll look back 25 years from now and see the "war on terror" as but a dark moment in American history, when we almost, very nearly, gave away our freedom out of fear, before coming to our senses as a nation. That's my hope.
Worst case scenario, we'll be whispering the truth through ultra-high-encryption-memory-hole tubes and such under pain of (not quite, legally and technically) torture and enemy-combatant-status-driven imprisonment. It all depends on who will be writing, or rewriting, the history.
